In this podcast, Jay and Amazing Larry explore the "Birthright" and the "Blessing" and why it is so important for the firstborn elder son to have them. By understanding the elder brother's birthright and blessing, we get great insights into famous first and second-born brothers and their conflicts as the Bible texts fall open with fresh insights!

Jesus, Our Firstborn Elder Brother (pt. 1)

June 22nd, 2020

Most of us know how important firstborn children are to their parents, especially firstborn sons to their dads. They are the pioneers, the "guinea pigs" for the new parents, the dominant child that often pushes their siblings around because "they know best," right? This is nothing new. From the very beginning (see Genesis 1-2) firstborn status is critical for understanding ancient Israelite culture, God's sovereign choices, and Jesus' role in God's family as our "firstborn, elder brother." After this series, you will never see the role of the firstborn son the same way!

What is encouragement? I'll tell ya what it is!  It's GREAT! Everyone needs it and no one gets enough. Believe it or not, encouragement is actually a powerful ministry of the Body of Christ. The Holy Spirit is known as the Encourager. There is the ministry gift of encouragement (Romans 12:8, "exhorting"). And there's just regular encouragement. Take a listen and be encouraged, yes!

A Psalm of Giving Thanks! (Psalm 138)

February 14th, 2020

Needing a lift today? How about a talk about Psalm 138, a Psalm of Giving Thanks! What a beautiful psalm. A moving psalm. A psalm declaring the goodness of God and how one day ALL the earth will praise the Lord and give Him thanks. A psalm we can pray back to Jesus about his loving care for us! Take a listen and be refreshed.

Women In Ministry - pt. 7, SILENCE! NO TEACHING or AUTHORITY

October 5th, 2019

Jay the Truth Barista and Amazing Larry continue their Friday coffee break Bible study on Women in Ministry by going through Apostle Paul's advice to his protege' Pastor Tim regarding an unruly woman in his congregation. What was meant to be a personal correction to a disruptive ill-informed teacher has been mistakenly applied to Christian women in general. Check it out!

Women In Ministry - pt. 5, Headcoverings?

September 19th, 2019

Man, talk about weird interpretations! Because people have read Apostle Paul from a 21st c. perspective instead of a 1st c. perspective, HALF of the church has been greatly affected for almosts 2,000 years. As a result, women have been prohibited from exercising their God-given gifts of teaching, preaching, sharing, even serving in leadership! Join Jay the Truth Barista and Amazing Larry as they dig into Paul's first letter to the Corinthians (1 Corinthians 11) regarding this remarkable subject. free!

Women In Ministry - pt. 4 Headcoverings?

September 13th, 2019

Jay the Truth Barista and Amazing Larry continue their study on Women In Ministry by addressing some of the very difficult scriptures where it appears Apostle Paul tightly controlled how women were to act in church. The context is CRITICAL! For fun, take a moment to think about all you've heard about Paul's direction in 1 Corinthians 11:1-14. Got it? Now, get ready for a massive knowledge adjustment. What do headcoverings mean to men and women in Paul's Corinthian congregation? Is this a matter of authority...OR SOMETHING ELSE? (Yes...that's a big hint.)

Biblical Accountabilty (pt. 1) - No One Is Immune From Scrutiny!

May 10th, 2019

How often have we seen or heard ministers, ministries, Christian groups or individuals do or say some wild things that make us wonder if they're on the up and up or even sane? While we need to see God's power today and God's word preached, this doesn't mean anyone can say or do anything with impunity. Some people assume if a manifestation is unusual or supernatural, it must be of God. Some people elevate Christian leaders to the point of untouchable, uncorrectable celebrity personalities. But is this right? Is there a standard of accountability to which our words and ways are supposed to be weighed? Yes! Check out this must hear two-part series on Biblical Accountability!
