What Is Real Revival? (pt 1)

April 6th, 2018

REVIVAL. What do you think of when you hear that word? An ol' fashioned tent-meeting with portable baptism tank and sawdust floor? A church service with a hot worship band, light show, and ecstatic singing? Or how about a fire and brimstone preacher stalking the stage like a panther looking for prey? Is this what real revival is? What are the hallmarks of true revival? Is revival what a church presents or what a person experiences? Can you have revival if something isn't "vived" first? Take a listen to the Truth Barista and Amazing Larry...and may the Lord fan the flames of love for Him in your heart!

God Rewards Desperate Faith, part 2 - The Gentile Woman.

March 9th, 2018

"Sorry, I wasn't sent to help dogs." You know, we don't really expect words like that to come out of Jesus' mouth...but they did. Here's the quote. "It isn’t right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs." (Matthew 15:26) Now if you stop there in the text, it sounds horrible. Okay, even if you read the whole text including Jesus agreeing to help the woman, it sounds terrible. BUT if you learn the context and take the language and God's plan into account, this is a profound story of mercy and compassion, one that should encourage us to reach out with a desperate faith that God rewards!

A woman who has been bleeding for TWELVE YEARS took an enormous risk and reached out to touch Jesus' garment, trusting that she would get healed. Understanding the Bible Better - Hebrew Idioms!

October 20th, 2017

Ever talk with someone who doesn't know your language? IT'S HILARIOUS! Well, the same holds true with the Bible. People, most of it was written in Hebrew by Hebrew speakers with a Hebraic mindset and world-view. Compared to today's Christians who speak a variety of languages with a variety of non-Hebraic mindsets and world-views we are not just miles apart, we're millennia apart! Some things cannot be effectively transmitted unless one GOES BACK to learn and understand the original context...and that's what the Truth Barista and Amazing Larry do in this podcast. Take a listen and have fun!!

Take a listen as Jay, the Truth Barista, and Amazing Larry walk through Psalm 32.
